2/2 - Reading Empire of AI
Today was my brother's birthday.
I spent today mostly just resting. Catching up on my lack of sleep for the past week. And occasionally continued reading the Empire of AI by Karen Hao. My impression so far is it's avery fascinating read. Mainly because I get to learn more on the personal life of the tech billionaires, the startup hub (YC), and their close networks.
I learned quite a bit based on what those successful tech entreprenuers did or their behaviours, The book describes several anecdotes with influetential tech people such as Paul Graham, Sam Altman, Elon Musk, Dario Amodei, Ilya Sutskever, etc
The book also made me see them as more human, which i mean that they are also full of flaws and vices than the normal narrative in the tech space itelf where we often idolize or glorify the work ethics/strategy/behaviour of successful tech moguls as well in the hope of replicating their success. But seeing their personal accounts and behaviour in more details helps you to see more in what they are.
I personally think people in tech/startup space should really read the book. One, you can learn from their experience. Two, you can also be aware to not be like them in certain trait or choice.
Anyway it's time for me to work back to be honest. I've been ignoring messages for a while just to take a break. It's also a new month, so I ought to set a new goals and todos for this upcoming month.
