It's okay to do cool features instead of what your customer want for your own motivation

When building a startup, you often get forced into trying to build for features that customers want or you think that they need. And sometimes this might be features you are not excited of.

It's fine once in a while. But then you realize startups often have an infinite backlog of features that you need to build. And the time you are waiting where you are free to do cool features that you want instead of what the business need never come.

As someone whose productivity is dependent on his interest. I can get demotivated easily when i'm stuck in these situations.

In those days, I realize the best cure is to just have fun sometimes and satisfy my inner nerd or interest.

Once in a while, forget the customer

Just build whatever feature you want or think it's cool.

It can reignite your love for coding or building stuff when you feel burned out

and as a result, you will be even more productive in the long run.
